European Parliament Resolution on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)
After
last weeks vote on the SRHR resolution, it appears that our representatives in
the European Parliament are not very interested in providing the citizens of
the European countries with universal access to sexual
and reproductive health and rights.
Acknowledging
the fact that sexual and reproductive rights are human rights, the rejected resolution stressed the shared
responsibility of men and women for sexual behavior and its consequences, proposing
(among other) the implementation of: youth/friendly SRHR services, universal,
compulsory, non-discriminatory and scientifically based SRHR education,
prevention and treatment programs for sexually transmitted diseases, and safe an
legal abortion services.

But
I guess, many countries in the European Union (Spain among others...) are just not ready
for something so fundamental for the development towards a non-discriminatory and gender equal
society... Such a great role model the EU.
